The overlap
Two people, the time they share. Works at 16px, reads as a game piece and as a Venn diagram.

twofoldPlay together, on your own time.
The idea
Every Twofold couple is two people living two different days. Most of the time those days don't touch. For an hour or two, they overlap, and that's when you can play live. The rest of the time you take turns.
The mark draws exactly that: two discs for two people (and two Connect Four pieces), with the shared moment between them picked out in the accent color. It's the same shape as the overlap finder on the site, so the logo explains the product.
The name follows the same thought. Twofold means two people, and two days folding over each other. Where they fold together is the overlap: the hour you can play live. Everything else, Twofold holds until the other person is free.
You · the overlap · them
Exploration
I sketched three directions from the research. The overlap won because it's the simplest and it says the most about what makes the product different.
Two people, the time they share. Works at 16px, reads as a game piece and as a Venn diagram.
Clear about time zones, but it looks like a world-clock utility. It doesn't say play.
A letter L built from game pieces. Fun, but it ties the brand to one game.
Logo
Mark plus lowercase wordmark in Geist Bold, tracked −3.5%. Use it first wherever there's room.
For square spaces: splash screens, profile images, the invite card.
On its own once people know the product.
Light discs on ink. The accent stays the same.
The lens becomes a cut-out. Use only for big marketing moments.
For print or embossing where only one ink is possible.
Logo
Geometry. Two circles of diameter 32 with centers 20 apart, so they overlap by 12. The overlap, a lens shape, is the only part in the accent color.
Clear space. Keep at least one lens width (12 units) empty on every side of the mark or lockup.
Minimum size. Mark 16px wide on screen, 6mm in print. Lockup 80px wide on screen.
Wordmark. Always lowercase "twofold". In sentences, write the name as Twofold.
Don't recolor the lens.
Don't stretch or squash it.
Don't pull the circles apart. No overlap, no logo.
Don't add shadows, gradients or hearts.
Color
Twofold uses the Minimal palette. Neutrals carry the interface; the accent, called Overlap, marks shared moments, your turn, and the one main action on a screen.
#18181B · dark #F4F4F5Text, player one, the discs#C2410C · dark #FB8A4CThe lens, player two, main actions#5F5F68 · dark #A1A1AASecondary text, partner on charts#F4F4F5 / #FFFFFFCards and page backgroundsRough proportion on a screen: about 60% Paper, 20% Mist, 12% Ink, 6% Overlap. If the accent is everywhere, it stops meaning "now".
Type
One family for everything. Sentence case, no all-caps labels. Geist Mono only for codes and room IDs.
Voice
We care about the couple. We never write like a greeting card or add hearts to make a point.
Distance means waiting. We never guilt anyone for a slow turn or a missed day. No streaks that shame.
Short sentences, real times, real names. "You're both free at 9:30" beats "sync window detected".
| Moment | Write | Avoid |
|---|---|---|
| Partner moved | Do: Arjun played. Your move. | Don't: Don't keep Arjun waiting! |
| Answer sent | Do: Sealed. Arjun sees it after answering. | Don't: Answer submitted successfully! |
| Overlap | Do: You're both free 21:30–23:30 tonight. | Don't: Optimal synchronous window detected. |
| Nudge | Do: Priya is thinking of you. | Don't: You've got love! 💕💕 |
| Lost a game | Do: Arjun won this one. Rematch? | Don't: You lost! Better luck next time. |
Graphic language
The 24-hour strip from the site is the brand's pattern. Use it in headers, posts and slides: Ink for one person's free hours, Overlap where they meet.
Illustration
Small drawings that sit beside each game and empty state. They're built from the same parts as the logo: circles, one line weight, Ink, and a single Overlap shape for the shared moment.
The next disc is already falling.
Two answers; the overlap is what you learn about each other.
One path, two choices.
A small signal crossing the distance.
Day on one side, night on the other, the overlap between.
Game pieces piling up over time.
Circles and simple lines only, drawn on a 96 × 64 grid with a 2.5 stroke.
Exactly one element per drawing uses Overlap, and it marks the shared moment.
Couples should see themselves in the drawings, so people stay abstract as discs.
In use
Used as the favicon and when someone adds Twofold to their home screen. Ink background, white discs, and the dark-mode Overlap for the lens.

Name first, then what happened. Always give the partner's local time when it helps.
A game room for the two of you. Take turns whenever you're free.
Take your seatThe first thing a partner sees. One clear action, the inviter's name in the headline.
Ink background, one line in Overlap. Numbers from real couples make the point.
The lockup sits top left. Inside the site, the brand stays quiet and lets the two clocks lead.
